Enough humming! YouTube will find the song correctly! Try it out!
Introduction:
With Google's hum-to-search, a simple and super feature, you can find out what the song is by just putting in the tune. A sweet tune you once heard is etched in your mind. But you won't remember the name of the song or the lyrics to that tune! No matter how hard you think, you may not be able to remember which song the tune belongs to.
YouTube has a great facility to use in such cases. Just hum or whistle the tune you have in mind and YouTube will find and tell you exactly what song is in that tune. This feature is used to search using voice. This feature is a store-exclusive feature only available on YouTube's mobile application. Note that this feature does not work on the YouTube website. Let's see how it works its magic by humming a catchy tune.
How to use hum-to-search feature:
- Open the YouTube application on mobile and tap on the search icon located at the top right corner of the screen.
- Click on the mic icon to use the Hum to Search feature. Before this you need to give permission to the YouTube application to use your phone's microphone.
- Those who are concerned about privacy can allow the microphone to be used only when necessary.
- You can also turn off the microphone permission after use.
- You can hum the tune you're thinking of by touching the mic icon. Or whistle.
- YouTube will search for the right song by listening to it. You can listen and see if the answer YouTube gives is the right song. If there is no song for the tune you hummed, you can tap the microphone icon again and try again.
Conclusion:
This feature may not be available to all YouTube users in India at this time. But, this facility will be available to everyone who is step-by-step. Primarily this feature is available for Android users. Especially if you are using the beta version of the YouTube app you can try this feature. There is no word on when it will be available for iOS users.
